Peerless Furnace w/Honneywell Hi/Lo Settings | |
I have tried adjusting the Hi/Lo settings to make my furnace run more efficiently and it has made it worse. The furnace now constantly runs. Does anyone know what the default setting should be?
**It is 0 degrees in Maine today, please HELP!!
Thanks,
Jason

i assume you're running a hot water boiler.
most people say the hi-lo setting year-round should be 180(hi)-160(lo). i think this kind of thinking is uncreative and ineffective. during the very coldest part of our nh winter, i set my hi-lo to 180/160. however, when it's not so cold outside i set it to 170/150 or even 160/130. during the summer i set it to 140/120--why keep the water hot when you don't need to? just a 10 degree drop in the hi-lo setting results in noticable savings in heating oil. try it.
